Police said Wednesday that Steve McNair's girlfriend Sahel Kazemi shot McNair dead in his sleep and herself. They also said that Kazemi was out of control because of mounting financial problems and suspicion of McNair seeing someone else. No miami dolphins jerseys were found at the scene.
Nashville police chief Ronal Serpas said that Kazemi shot McNair four times as he dozed on a sofa early Saturday and then turned the gun on herself. Interviews with her friends revealed that Kazemi used to tell a friend "My life is a ball of (expletive) and I should end it." They also found that Kazemi was making payments on two cars, her rent was doubling and she suspected the married McNair was having a second affair with another young woman.
It was said that the retired quarterback's wife, Mechelle McNair, did not know who Kazemi was. His friend also defended McNair as a great husband.
