Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Juqua Parker was arrested on a marijuana possession charge Wednesday. He was found carrying a small amount of marijuana when Lower Saucon Township police stopped a vehicle Parker was in for a traffic violation. The time was 12:33 a.m, about half an hour before team curfew, and the place was near Lehigh University, where the Eagles train.
Parker was taken to Northampton County Prison and then was released on $1,000 bail. Eagles coach Andy Reid told reporters that the team has been aware of the incident. But there has not been any league decision on Parker's status.
31-year-old, Parker played joined the Eagles in 2005 after spending four seasons with the Tennessee Titans. As a full-time starter last year, finishing with five sacks, 76 tackles and one interception that he returned 55 yards for a touchdown in a win over San Francisco, he was also listed as the team’s starting left defensive end this season. But the charge of marijuana possession will probably bring him suspension.
