Fullback Quillen became the third player to quit Dolphins camp

The Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said that he could be responsible for players quitting training camp after fullback Matt Quillen became the third player to quit the Dolphins training camp.

"It might be me," Sparano said with a chuckle Monday. "I'm not for everybody."

Quillen was signed by the team Thursday and took part in only one practice. And tight end Jared Bronson, a rookie free agent out of Central Washington, failed to show up to training camp. Sparano said that the training was hard and some players' quitting was a credit to the other guys who stayed on the field.

"If your heart isn't in what you're doing, it does not take long with the heat, with the contact, with the intensity of what we're doing out here, and the way we're doing it, to figure out that maybe this isn't for you."

The first two quitting players were offensive tackle SirVincent Rogers and safety Ethan Kilmer. I hope that the remaining players will become real Dolphins and prove Sparano's strict principle to be correct.
