Buccaneers Jagodzinski to be the second fired offensive coordinator of this week

For a vague reason, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fired their offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski on Thursday and promoted quarterback coach Greg Olson to the position. First-year coach Raheem Morris said that the Buccaneers did so to improve their passing game.

“I have a lot of respect for coach Jags, and what he did, and the effort he put into his work, but we’re at the point now where we need to be more precise, we need to be more detailed and we need to have more direction on where we’re going to go,” Morris said.

Olson was an experienced offensive coordinator and use to do the same job with the Detroit Lions and the St. Louis Rams. Also with the experience of coaching with the Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers and the Boston College football team, he was hired by the Buccaneers in January. Before he was fired, offensive coordinator Chan Gailey lost his job with the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this week.
