Titans signed veteran returner Jones weeks after releasing him

Weeks ago, the Tennessee Titans released veteran returner Mark Jones to fix their struggling special teams. One day ago, the Titans brought Jones back to the roster to boost the team after using rookie returners resulted in two turnovers and 14 points in last weekend’s 24-17 loss to the New York Jets.

Jones was first signed by the Titans in this offseason and then was released on Sept. 4. On Tuesday, he had a physical and joined the team again to replace rookie returners. Before that, the Titans placed veteran punter Craig Hentrich onto injured reserve after he strained a calf muscle Sept. 20. They also released running back Chris Henry from the roster and cut RB Rodney Ferguson from the practice squad.

The turnover of players also included signing safety Kevin Kaesviharn and added cornerback Cary Williams to the practice squad.
