Bills fired Coach Jauron and promoted coordinator Fewell

Entering the Week 11, a head coach was fired, not the Washington Redskins’ Jim Zorn, not the Cleveland Browns’ Eric Mangini, but the Buffalo Bills Dick Jauron, who disappointed Bills owner Ralph Wilson so much that the latter decided to promote coordinator Perry Fewell to replace Jauron.

Jauron has run out of time to build a contender or come up with a way to fix an offense that sputtered even with the addition of Terrell Owens, who wore Dallas Cowboys jersey before coming to Buffalo. Wilson has no more patience to him after Sunday’s 41-17 loss to the Tennessee Titans, instead, the owner found hope in Fewell, who is in his 12th NFL season, and fourth with the Bills, who also has done “a great job with our defense and demonstrated excellent leadership skills.”

Describing his decision as “for the best interest of our team,” Wilson is trying his best to avoid missing the playoffs for a 10th straight year in their 50th anniversary season. Whether it was Jauron’s fault for Bills’ 3-6 start or not, hopefully Fewell would bring some good news to Buffalo this weekend in his debut as a team’s coach. It will be against the 5-4 Jacksonville Jaguars.
