Eric Barton became the Cleveland Browns second inside linebacker to be lost for the season since D’Qwell Jackson was placed on injured reserve list after undergoing shoulder surgery last month.
The team did not reveal what kind of injury Barton has got while announcing their decision on Tuesday. Available information is that Barton was injured during the first half of the game against the Chicago Bears on Nov. 1. There have been reports saying that Barton had a bulging disc in his neck, but the team did not respond to that reports.
Barton is one of the 10 former New York Jets brought by Browns Coach Eric Mangini and he had started eight games since putting on Browns jersey. Losing him is just another blow to the team’s defense.
