QB Pennington wants to stay in Miami even to be backup

10-year veteran quarterback Chad Pennington still takes staying with the Miami Dolphins as his top choice in 2010. According to what he told reporters, he would even like to be a backup as long as he can continue wearing his No. 10 Dolphins jersey to play in 2010 season.

Beside Pennington, the Dolphins now have three other quarterbacks on the roster: Chad Henne, Tyler Thigpen and Pat White, and Henne is most likely to take the starting job to replace Pennington, who has had a shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum and needs further discussion with his doctor to assess his rehabilitation.

According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins will check if Pennington has recovered fully by watching if he could throw a 15-yard out route before the end of February. If the Dolphins’ final decision is to let Pennington go, the 34-year-old quarterback is likely to play for the Arizona Cardinals.
