The Baltimore Ravens now have another talented pass catcher on their roster after a trade with the Arizona Cardinals. Yeah, you may have guessed it out, wide receiver Anquan Boldin has had his wish of leaving Cardinals come true and will appear in Ravens jersey for the 2010 season.
Through the trade on Friday, the Ravens also got a fifth-round pick in addition a Boldin from the Cardinals and the price was a third- and fourth-round pick in the 2010 draft. What the Ravens offered to Boldin was a new four-year contract that is worth $28 million, including a $10 million guaranteed money. Frankly, it’s a much bigger deal that the four-year, $22.5 million contract the Cardinals offered to him after the 2005 season. What’s more, the Ravens value him more than the Cardinals do and are open-minded with plays’ off-field issues. Good example is that they signed former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte’ Stallworth after he was released by the former team after he served the sentence for an automobile accident which resulted in the death of a Miami, Florida pedestrian and a DUI manslaughter conviction.
“The Ravens just got better,” Coach John Harbaugh said. “Anquan is a significant addition for us. He fits the personality of our team with the hard-nosed, physical way he plays. We love the way he competes. Our fans will enjoy watching him compete and his teammates will be excited to have him with us.”
At age 29, Boldin has had at least 1,000 yards receiving in five of his seven seasons and his number in last season was 1,024 yards on 84 catches. He began asking for a trade since last year after failing to get a new contract from the franchise. No trade is done last year because the Cardinals did not find any offer to their satisfaction.

WR Boldin will probably miss Cardinals third preseason game
The Arizona Cardinals will probably play their third preseason game without wide receiver Anquan Boldin, who skipped Wednesday’s practice with a sore right hamstring.
According to Coach Ken Whisenhunt, Boldin began to feel uncomfortable with the hamstring during practice on Tuesday and an MRI showed that there was no serious injury. But Boldin will still likely miss the Friday night’s preseason game against the Green Bay Packers.
If he was confirmed not to be able to play the game, with wide receiver Steve Breaston also sidelined with a bruise knee, wide receiver Jerheme Urban will have the chance to become backup for Larry Fitzgerald.

RB Tim Hightower is at the top of Cardinals depth chart
Cardinals maven Darren Urban reports on the team’s official website that RB Tim Hightower is at the top of the depth chart. Although a running back is not much useful in the Cardinals as they have QB Kurt Warner, WR Larry Fitzgerald and WR Anquan Boldin, ti is still good for them to have a good running back.
Hightower scored 10 touchdowns last year in one of those games he had 13 rushing yards and 20 receiving yards. What he needs most now may be abundant play time. Cardinals can be better if they consider making full use of the good running backs they already have.
